Richard VanDommelen was
born and raised in the community of Harvey, Illinois
and attended the school system there. He then entered Illinois Wesleyan University
earning his Bachelor of Music Degree.
He entered the musical education field at the Glenwood School
For Boys for three years and then at Calumet High School in Chicago, Illinois for the next seven years.
In 1972 he moved to Florida and engaged in the professions of Musical Performances and as an Independent
Building Contractor.
In 1992 he added the position of Music Director and Conductor for the Pinellas Park Civic Orchestra. He continues his professional duties as well as playing in several Community Groups.
He has a son Eric who is a member of the French Horn Section of the Pinellas Park Civic Orchestra and announces the program
content for the orchestra.
